Certification & Recertification |
The MNLGA is committed to providing members the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills through it's professional certification programs and educational offerings. The CPH program is voluntary for those desiring to demonstrate proficiency in horticulture. The objective is to raise and improve the professional standards of the nursery, landscape, and garden center industries by recognizing individuals who demonstrate a high level of competence in the principles and practices relevant to those industries. In addition to the basic exam there are 5 specialty designations available in Herbaceous Perennials, IPM and Pest Control, Weeds and Weed Control, Plant Identification, and Composting and Compost Utilization. To learn more about the CPH program, view samples of the manual chapters, and for more information on applying to the program, use the CPH dropdown from the menu above. The MNLGA provides the opportunity for pesticide and applicator recertification in a broad range of categories that cover multiple states. Below are some of the certifications and recertifications that may be available by attending MNLGA educational symposiums and programs. Our larger events such as Chesapeake Green (see the menu above for more information) may offer credits in all of the categories below, while smaller events are more localized for credits. Stay tuned to the MNLGA website for event postings, or consider joining the association to be kept in the loop on all events, and receive discounted MNLGA member pricing! Check out the Upcoming Events box on the right hand side of this page for more education opportunities. Credits offered are publicized for each event. Not all credits listed below may be available as credits issued are done according to the program and the issuing agency.
